Greetings from our Principal
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7 Kings James Version)
Dear Students, Parents, Teachers, and Staff:
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to The New Lots School, PS 213K. Imagine a school where every child is guided, nurtured and encouraged every day. Imagine a school that focuses on what works, what makes sense and what every young child needs to become a learner! Welcome to PS 213, The New Lots School, where children and learning come FIRST! I am enthused to have you as partners in this educational journey. I am privileged to have this opportunity to provide for the educational needs of my scholars, to assist teachers and staff with their professional growths and to create a learning environment that is supportive and nurturing. I believe that elementary students are successful when they are given a safe and nurturing school environment that includes high expectations, quality instruction, and a caring atmosphere. My primary goal as building leader is to empower each learner to grow as an individual, develop an enthusiasm for learning and to become a creative, independent thinker and problem solver.
I hope you will join with me as we strive to instill life-long skills in our children, both academic and social. At PS 213, we need parents to partner with our staff as we create an environment that values education and emphasizes the importance of being kind, safe, respectful, and responsible. I am excited about getting to know the children and families that walk through the doors of PS 213. I am confident that you will find PS 213, The New Lots School an excellent place for your child to learn.
Feel free to contact me with suggestions, comments or concerns that you may have during the course of the school year so that I can better meet the needs of your child and your family. I can be easily reached at (718) 257-4034 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
A Message from Our
It is a privilege to help lead a school with such a strong dedication to children. I have been committed to the field of education for over twenty years. Some of my many roles throughout the years have been a School Classroom Teacher, School Based Data Specialist and Literacy Coach. I am excited and eager to utilize my skills as an educational leader to the New Lots School community. I am dedicated to working together to ensure that student achievement, social emotional development and strong family and community partnerships continue to be part of the daily culture of P.S. 213. My greatest accomplishment of all, are my two daughters Desiree and Lia.
I want to share a little background about my educational journey. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from Brooklyn College. I hold a Master of Science in Urban and Multi-Cultural Education from The College of Mount Saint Vincent and a Master of Science in School Leadership from Touro College. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working in several districts. It is through these experiences that I have become certain of the following: Children learn best when they are exposed to a variety of academic, cultural, athletic, artistic and technological learning experiences. As our students advance and grow, we have a collective responsibility as educators to adapt our instructional practices in order to give them experiences that will foster student achievement and independence.
“To educate is my mission and ministry!”
